Torsten and Katya, a middle-aged couple, go to a train station and pick up Daniel, a young soldier who has just returned from Afghanistan. The next day, they get back into their car and drive to the station. Another young soldier is waiting in the same place.

Through a series of alibi encounters and reconstructions that make it difficult to distinguish between truth and fiction, the film examines experiences of loss and memory in a specific family-historical context, but one that also concerns individual and collective traumas in other times and places.
Fest's films and video installations frequently blur the boundaries between documentary and fictional elements, between reality and fantasy, and in doing so create hybrid genres that simultaneously explore and violate cinematic conventions. Through repetition, fragmentation, creative storytelling and editing, his works provoke thought about the processes of formation and change of narratives - personal, as well as cultural and political; In a way that makes the viewer aware of the multiplicity of perspectives inherent in every perception of reality
